World Karate Federation and Fox Sports Australia Reach Inaugural Television and Streaming Distribution Deal

The World Karate Federation (WKF) proudly announces its inaugural agreement with Fox Sports Australia for the television and streaming distribution of key karate events throughout 2024. This deal marks the first time WKF has secured such a partnership in Oceania, signifying a momentous leap forward for the sport and a testament to the increasing popularity of Karate in Australia and Oceania.

The partnership includes the broadcast rights for the four Karate 1 Premier League events scheduled for 2024 and the European Championships. The comprehensive coverage of these events on Fox Sports Australia solidifies WKF and Fox Sports Australia's commitment to providing fans with high-quality, exciting, and accessible content. With this agreement, the WKF's distribution footprint now spans all five continents, cementing karate's status as a truly global phenomenon.

Karate has garnered remarkable popularity in Australia over the years, thus securing its position among the most-followed combat sports in the region. The Australian delegation participated with 16 athletes in the last edition of the World Senior Championships, and Karate Australia topped the medal table of the 2023 Oceania Senior & U21 Karate Championships with 19 gold medals.

WKF President Antonio Espinós said:

"This agreement represents a pivotal moment in the WKF's successful television and streaming distribution strategy. Bringing karate to Fox Sports Australia ensures that fans across Australia will have unparalleled access to our sport's most prestigious events.

“Our collaboration with Fox Sports Australia aligns seamlessly with our mission to elevate karate to new heights. We are excited about the prospect of captivating audiences across the region and showcasing the unparalleled values, discipline, and excitement that define our sport."

World Karate Federation events can be seen on Fox Sports Australia, available on Kayo Sports or Foxtel.
