To All Members of Shindo Karate,
We are aware that some of you may have seen recent media coverage on A Current Affair referencing Mr. Joshua Brown and his alleged involvement with Shindo Karate. We write to clarify and correct the multiple inaccuracies presented in that report.
It is important that our members are made aware of the following facts:
- Mr. Joshua Brown has never been an employee of Shindo Karate in any capacity.
- He was a junior member of Shindo Karate Hoppers Crossing many years ago, but has had no involvement with as an adult and has not been associated with Shindo for at least the past eight years.
- At no time would Mr. Brown have had unsupervised contact with any member of Shindo Karate, regardless of age.
The safety of all our members is of the utmost priority to us. All Shindo Karate classes are led by Government accredited Instructors with current Working with Children Checks. In addition, all classes are open to spectators, and parents are welcome and regularly choose to stay and watch their children participate.
