Karate Australia invites 2022 National Squad members to renew their squad registration and other athletes to register as a member of the National Squad for 2023.

Registration closes 28 February 2023.

National Squad Registration fee of $55 for 2023 includes Registration and nomination fees. National Squad membership is only open to Karate Australia members who are members of a member club.

Please note a Squad Member who is no longer a member of Karate Australia as a result of non renewal or being a member of a non member club is ineligible for selection in a National Team.

Only registered members of the 2023 National Squad will be considered for selection into a National Team. In addition, membership will entitle you to the full benefits of the domestic Training, Competition and Development Program as communicated by the National Coaches Committee. 

Cadet / Junior Oceania Championship

The Cadet /  Junior Oceania Championship will take place on 5 May 2023 at the Whitlam Centre in Liverpool, NSW.

Nomination for this event is included in this registration

Subject to performance consideration, the selection criteria includes National (and International) results in 2022.

U21 / Senior Oceania Championship

The U21 / Senior Oceania Championship will take place on 30 June 2023 in Christchurch, in conjunction with the New Zealand Open

Nominations for this event will be included in registration for the Australian Open

U21 / Senior Oceania Selection Camp

Subject to performance consideration, the selection criteria for the U21 / Senior Oceania Championship includes National (and International) results in 2022 and performance at the National Selection Camp to be held on the Monday and Tuesday after the Australian Open.

All athletes seeking selection into the National Team for the U21 / Senior Oceania Championship are required to attend the camp.

New Zealand Open

The New Zealand Open in Christchurch, 1-2 July 2023 is an International Inclusive Event created a tangible link between the Domestic Program and International Program. Subject to full participation in the domestic events comprising part of the National Team Selection Criteria and having competed in the 2023 Australian Open. National Squad member will qualify for selection and therefore National Team representation.

2023 Senior WKF World Championship

The WKF Senior World Champiopnship in Budapest, Hungary will take place on 24-29 October 2023
